DDR4 or DDR5: why stability testing takes time
Memory works as a system: the RAM kit, the processor’s memory controller, the motherboard, the BIOS and the associated voltages. Two configurations with the same commercial specification do not always behave identically.
Frequency is not enough
Performance and stability depend on frequencies, timings, voltages and the memory controller. A profile that boots Windows is not necessarily stable under a sustained load.
Why DDR5 often needs more validation
DDR5 exposes more useful parameters, and the interactions between voltages, controller and timings can require several iterations. Testing time is an integral part of the service.

- Memory and controller voltages
- Module temperatures
- Repeated tests suited to the platform
A stable profile before an extreme one
The best setting is not always the highest frequency. A slightly more conservative profile can deliver a better experience if it remains stable in real use.
